Balancing Extremism in Life

A few months back, before any restriction on flying, I got a seat behind two CXOs, who were discussing the plans and projections of their company and earned a badge of honor by counting how many days in a year they fly for business meetings. The one, who spent more days in the airplane was found more workaholic.

Parents prove themselves responsible by overinvesting in building competitive kids, helicoptering their kids, finding a sport, and becoming marathoners themselves while being busy increasing the number of followers on Instagram, retweeting the occurrences in fractions of seconds, and competing over their colleagues.

Health-conscious and fitness freak start their day with the most expensive green drinks, made up of some seeds grown in a foreign land. Embracing mindfulness and attaining yoga postures have become fraught by constantly comparing themselves with peers and hell-bent on pushing their limits more than the person standing next.

Extremism is defining the caliber and worth of a person and moderation in any form is getting noticed as a habit of a slacker who is afraid of devoting maximum of their time mastering one thing, building one pillar of their life while ignoring others.

Here I am, balancing between the two extremes - doing nothing and doing everything.
